Project Lead and Technical Writer
Ms. Karen Basehore brings over twenty years of broad, hands-on leadership experience in administration, operations, strategic planning, and training management from both public and private sectors to AvantGarde, LLC. As Project Lead for the National Guard Bureau Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (NGB SAPR) Office, Ms. Basehore liaises with the team members and the client to deliver the appropriate support by clarifying the needs of the client as well as the roles and responsibilities of the AvantGarde team members in the planning and execution of the tasks. In her capacity as the Technical Writer for the NGB SAPR Office, Ms. Basehore drafts numerous products to include the NGB Annual Report of Sexual Assault in the Military, Chief of the National Guard Bureau issuances, and responses to leadership inquiries or requests for information. On a routine basis, Ms. Basehore reviews and assesses policies, procedures, and strategic plans, and provides editorial input on various draft documents within the office to improve clarity in the messaging.
Ms. Basehore retired from the United State Army with over 20 years of active federal service with professional experience in Human Resource Management, Strategic Planning, Training, Operational and Logistical Management, and extensive Administrative oversight. Ms. Basehore graduated from Slippery Rock University, Pennsylvania, with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education and Jacksonville State University, Alabama with a Master of Science in Biology, and Command & General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, KS.
