Aleigh Suffern

Project Lead & Training Specialist

Aleigh Suffern is a proud Army National Guard veteran with over 12 years of service in the Maine Army National Guard (MEARNG). She was awarded the Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal for completing 700 volunteer hours with the Literacy Volunteers of Bangor, assisting adults to improve their literacy.  Prior to serving on active duty in the final years of her military career, Aleigh worked as a TechHire Navigator and Youth Career Advisor helping diverse and marginalized populations navigate public systems, including 1 year as a site lead for two AmeriCorps members. She also served 7 years as a section sergeant overseeing four petroleum supply specialists for the MEARNG. 

As a Project Lead at AvantGarde, LLC, Aleigh manages a multifaceted team covering operational functions that include data analysis, SharePoint administration, policy writing, and training and curriculum development for the National Guard Bureau. 

Aleigh graduated from the University of Maine with a Master of Science in Human Development. 

 

What do I love about my work at AG?

I appreciate being able to serve my National Guard community in another capacity and supporting my client with their training and prevention needs. 

 

What do I love most about AG overall?

I love that AvantGarde cares as much for their employees as they do their clients.  They are an organization focused on the overall health and wellbeing of their entire workforce.
